Personal comments
So
here’s my work for the second exercises of my comics course: the
meet between Hardy Pothole an apprentice in the “Hog’s Wart’s wizard
school” having his exams, and the Master of the test #27.
I wanted to create an unique universe based upon two existing ones:
the kids wizards à la Harry Potter, and the little boy scout
that usually pass some tests in the wood (and this explains why
Hardy Pothole have a scarf and a pair of shorts). I like the final
result because the characters are lovely, and adding the textures
allowed avoiding the huge presence of white areas, like my previous
comic. The sky, however, could be better done, and some textures
on the characters would have been welcome. This little story would
be improved if we were allowed to make two pages, but the directions
said it’s one page only: so I had to compress all the texts, the
panels, the useful pieces of information…in this page. Finally,
it wasn’t necessary to make a full story with a beginning and a
final end: it was allowed to make a part of a story, so it’s normal
that we’d never know how Hardy Pothole will manage to pass this
test #27) |
