San Antonio de Padua
The church of San Antonio de Padua in Miramar (Havana) dates from 1949.
The sobre facade along the Avenida 5 is neoroman inspired. Inside
is a splendid concrete skeleton.
The architects Salvador Figueras and Eloy Norman led the project.
The church of the Franciscans has one of the best organs in Latin America
and was at the time of construction provided with airconditioning.
Until the construction of the neighbouring Russian embassy, the campanile
was the highest tower in Miramar.
