A paradise of art deco and modernism.  Many Santiago buildings were built in the art deco style after earthquakes damaged the city in the 1930s.

Hospital de Maternidad - Avenida de los Libertadores.

The Moncada Garrison and the wooden sheds in art deco style for the military - Calle Moncada.

The Hatuey brewery nearby the statue of José Martí on the Paseo de Martí.

Lorraine 655 - Avenida Jesus Menendez.

The late art deco facade of the Palacio de Justicia (1952) interprets the traditional classical portico with a modernist vocabulary.

Circulo Recreativo Capitan Orestes Acosta Herrera  - Avenida Manduley.

 Former National Bank of Cuba on the Plaza Céspedes (now Banco de Credito y Comercio) with beautiful social-realistic interior wall paintings.  The design for this modernist building took advantage of materials widely available after World War II, including plate glass and poured concrete.
