Sorroa

Sorroa (Candelaria) is a luxury resort on the road of Havana to Pinar del Río.  The bungalows are placed in a royal green setting.  Circular concrete terrasses in the hill are covered with a zig-zag motive.  The concrete sheds are clearly inspired by  the traditional architecture.  Elsewhere in Cuba (e.g. Brisas del Mar, Habana del Este) you will find beach cabins where the roof is also the essential element of the whole construction.   In a restaurant nearby, the columns are similar to the tree-trunks of the palms.
