Welcome to my Support Page for Stricq, an Amiga ICQ Client.
Contents
Introduction
Some months ago, Douglas F. McLaughlin decided to release the Sources of his Amiga ICQ Client called Stricq under GPL.
So I first tried to compile the sources with success (many people were not able to compile it successfully)... And after a lot of work, I could at least compile it. So I began to make the following changes:
- I added Locale.library support (50% translated)
- I wrote a french catalog
- I made some small changes to the GUI (especially Loading and About window)
Then I decided to contact the author to know if I could or not distribute it,...
He said "Thank you very much for your work! I know many others will appreciate
it!" and told me to put it on my website... So Stricq Support Page was born !
What's new ?
- Stricq version 0.1735 released:
This version should fix a lot of bugs reported by the users.
- Stricq version 0.1734 (Exe. and Sources) released: only small Fixes and Enhancements
Some of you wrote to me saying that they did not see the ICQ Flowers...
I'm really sad to learn that because I have worked a lot to bring it and -again- it seems that StrICQ only works quiet well on my configuration... ;(
** Please Stop writing to tell me that: I know it now ! **
- New ! Stricq version 0.1733 available ! You can download it here and go here to see a list of the changes
Warning:This version adds nice icons in the prefs window:
you MUST install the new catalogs or use the Built-in English version in order to see the Icons.
- ATO has finished translating Stricq to 10 languages !
Those catalogs are available in a separate archive here.
Thanks a lot to ATO and especially Michael Malyshev.
Downloads
Here you can download the latest version of Stricq with locale support.
Because the sources of Stricq are really big and a lot of people don't need it, I made two separate archives:
Frequently Asked Questions
Here you will find answers (actually, I hope so ;)) to the problems you may have with Stricq...
To ask a question, click here, and type your question...
Stricq Crashes when I quit
If you're using TWFMultiled.mcc, please use lamp.mcc instead until I find the bug...
(the same error seems to occur with Napster so it's probably not Stricq's fault but TWFMultiled's...)
When I press the Chat button, the actively log window pops up
This bug has been fixed in version 0.1735
