Chaudefonds was not always called Chaudefonds. Formerly, it was called Chaudefondz or Calidus Fons. Its name comes from theSainte-Madeleine fountain which is always to 17 °.

In Chaudefonds, there is the town hall. The town hall of today was formerly the house of Mrs Louise COGNEE who sold it.

The church does not have toujoirs be in the same place. Front, it was in the place of the library. Now, the church is at the end of the street Traversière.

There were two public schools and a private school. There was a public school girls and one of boys. The private school was a school of girls. Now the two schools are mixed.
