Although this city is not the capital , be aware that it's just like , as it's the main city in the country with his Seaport, and the international airport of Cadjehoun.
The Seaport of Cotonou is now the first in WestAfrica for the second hand cars import traffic.

• Dantokpa Market is the biggest market in the country held every four days in the original style of african markets. Dantokpa is worth of visit. Have a guide with you, for prices are subject to hard bargain.
  
• Ganhi Market is in the center city and has an easier access. Everyday open. Best time is week-end.
  
• The city offers also a few good supermarkets where you can buy european items in the same way. Go to Ganhi Market, city center.

• Cotonou offers a range of natural beaches from the airport to many kilometers away towards Nigeria or on the opposite side towards Togo.
  But some easy accesses are just aside the Sheraton Hotel with a parking facility.
  No Beach equipments are to be expected so ever, just go for picnic with all games accessories needed and don't forget a big hat for Dames & ladies as we have here the hotest yellow sand beach along Atlantic Ocean !

• PORTO-NOVO THE CAPITAL
  Porto-Novo is a nice city behind a the brackets of its lagoon.
  The City offers a wide range of Hotels accomodation and a quite good nightlife. Although Porto-Novo is Capital of Benin, cause of many governments offices, it may not look like it.. It is more a national city , well trade minded.. Probably the first islam quarter in this country, the city has a very young population of roman catholics, traditionals, mixed with the islamics Yoruba people, altogether living in a total harmony..

• OUIDAH The Historic Ouidah is a a city full of the memory of the first Western Europeans contact with the former Dahomey land. It was the Portuguese bastion by the years 1700 ! The city of Félix De Souza alias CHACHA, the only european who has totally become African and ruled the kingdom of Dahomey with King GHEZO !
