Hamedan: On the road from center Iran to Mesopotamia, in the beautiful Zagros moutains is the old city of Hamedan.It was the capital of the Meds who were the first tribe to take power over Iran.Due to wars, permanent through time ,there are only a few historical monuments, among which this mausoleum, Gonbad-e Alavian of the 12 th century. |

In the crypt is big table covered with green pieces of woven material.Visitors use
to express a wish and tie a knot in the green material.But be careful;have your piece down the pile,
because if the knot is opened then the wish flies away...

Shrine of Esther and Mardochee is the oldest monument of the city.It is a pilgrimage place for the Jewish community.This unexpected coming back to the bible is an emotional visit .Here is one of the two cenotaphs. |
