SPERMBIRDS HISTORY

Spermbirds was german band formed in the early 80. Members were Lee Holis (voc), Frank Rahm (gtr), Markus Weilemann (bass), Matthias "Beppo" Gotte (drms) and Roger Ingenthron (gtr).

When the band split in 88 for the 1st time, they only had recorded 1 LP ('Something To Prove') so they released 'Nothing Is Easy' which is a mixture of old and new songs.

The band came back together and restarted to record again. 3rd LP ('Common Threat') was recorded in 01-02/90 , then the band released their 1st live album ('thanks - live') recorded during their Common Threat German tour.

After the 5th LP ('Eating Glass'), the band split for the second time and released the 6th LP:"Joe".

The band reformed in 92 (I think) but with a new singer ,Ken. A new album came out the same year ('Shit For Sale'). this line up recorded 2 more LP before splitting for the 3rd and certainly the last time.(Ok I have to say I'm not a big fan of 2nd era spermbirds, as they started to sound pretty different but at least they have continued to play old songs so I'm giving them the credits they deserve).

A last album was released in 96 as a 2CD box set. It is a recording of their last gig in 95 and it have both singer (a CD for each).

Right now Lee is singing for Steakknife, Frank plays guitar for Kick Joneses and Supergouge, Markus plays guitar for lungbutter, Beppo sings for Kick Joneses and Roger Plays (gtr?) for Headcrash.

As you can see I don't know that much about the Spermbirds, if you know something more (or more precise) email me!
