Programming in System RPL

Second Edition

If you already know how to program in UserRPL, then you already know that your calculator can do many things. With System RPL, you can do even more! For example, you can make calculations with a 15-digit accuracy, or you can have arrays of objects other than numbers, you have access to all 29 object... and much more. And, of course, with the greatest advantage of being fast.

Unfortunately, there aren't many sources of information for who is interested in learning System RPL. The existing texts are either incomplete and difficult to understand, or are meant for someone who already knows System RPL and just wants a reference. So, how does one learn System RPL?

The document below is meant for that: to teach someone how to program in System RPL, assuming he does not have previous knowledge of it, and to be a reference for those who already learned.

This second edition, in which is co-authored with Carsten Dominik, is aimed at the HP49G calculator. It describes its new features, such as the Virtual Stack and the CAS.

It is provided free of charge (connection fees may apply). You may distribute it freely as long as it is in its whole, unmodified form; and if you do not charge anything for it. Otherwise, we will want our share!

If you find any mistake in it, or if you have any suggestion or comment, e-mail me at ekalin@bol.com.br. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

This document in provided in PostScript and Portable Document Format (PDF) versions. Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free product to view PDF files, and is available for most common plataforms. Alladin Ghostscript is another free product, available for most common plataforms and for some exotic ones also, which views PostScript files.

You should download the PostScript version only if you have a PostScript printer (if in doubt, consult your printer manual), or if there isn't a version of Acrobat Reader for your system. Otherwise, get the PDF version.
