ABDELMAJID DOMNATI
Being a child, he was taught to play gembri (an old three-strings bass-guitar)
and drum by Mohamed Babti, Ahmed ,M'barek, and Bamassaoud.
During the sacred secret lailah-parties (spiritual enchantment)
he played and danced for his teachers "the MUALLIMS". Regarding the ability
and the respectful dignity of the latters it has always been a very special
interest of Abdelmajid to continue this millennial Afro-Arabic rite. He is
known to be one of the great gembri masters in Morocco; in addition to his
open-mind toward other musical genres. |
