English Vignettes
                   "Masks Look on" is a masks exhibition for entertainment; most of them have an African inspiration, but are rid of any ritual character. Placed on a fragment of their history (real or imaginary ?), they look at and are looked at. Getting intensity from abstraction, they expect to be looked at in order to see and be put on to become alive.

All the sculptures have been made with "Simaruba" wood from the French Guianese jungle. Enlarge Little Head The pigments are natural and their composition is based on Saramaca clay, Roucu, charcoal and turmeric seeds.
