87th scale model

I love this car, well this...
this... big... this very big... this big thing called a car.
And if you are familiar with it, you would know, it has a name: Audi Quattro S1.
None of the photos of the
real model are mine. If you click on them, you should find the website where
they come
from.

I started the first drawings at
the end of the year 2004, but gave up quickly,
because I was thinking of using
the Herpa model of the Audi Quattro, enlarge the sides,
add the front spoilers
and the rear wing... Silly idea.

December 2005. Introduction of a
new way of thinking and working.
The result is here. In just 3 weeks, the model
is completed.
It has been done completely from scratch, from pieces of plastic
glued together, cut with a penknife and sanded...

No photo from the creation, just
the finished model with a borrowed camera.
Mine has been damaged. Bad fall.
The
main body is a one-piece model, with the 4 wheels and the rear wing glued onto
the main piece.

New stuff, I tried a paintbrush ( a 'maobi') used for Chinese calligraphy. It
works quite well.
Because I hadn't painted for more than 6 months, all my Tamiya
paints were 'dead'.
I used acrylic gouache paint instead.

Using Acrylic paint means this is
a NO TOUCH model.
No one is allowed to touch it... otherwise... Grrrrr !

Here it is...

This zoom is awesome and shows so many details, I begin to
feel sick and ready to apologize for such a crappy work !
So let's me fix it with this last picture to show you what an usual eye would
see:

Yes ! I feel better now... I can go back to work happily !

I have been able to make a copy of the original. First photos:

I also found out some rough surface on the front windshield so it needs some work.

The model above has been sanded and painted white. I am now trying to add
