The correct use of whey proteins
General facts
First, i must say that i am no doctor, so the information i give are just pieces
of the knowledge i collected up to now.
Like other bodybuilding freaks, i am sure that you use whey proteins, or at
least that you have heard of them. Just to summarize, there are a lot of protein
available, but the best for muscle growth (when correctly used) are whey proteins.
For them to be efficient, they must be taken according to some predefine scheme.
It is possible with whey to create a large arrival of amino acids in blood, yielding
to an increase of anabolism (the state where your body is able to build muscle).
Trying to do it with normal proteins, you cannot achieve this goal because first,
the "normal" proteins need a lot of time to be digested, and second, their arrival
in blood is regulated so that it stays more or less constant. To produce an hyperaminoacidemia
(the effect you want: the massiv amino acid arrival in blood), you just need to eat
whey to boost the amino acid level.
Of course eating "normal" proteins is important so as to prevent catabolism (the state
where your body losses its muscle) to happen.
It is important to note that an hyperaminoacidemic state can be fast followed by its
contrary (a state where no more amino acids are available in your blood) leading to
catabolism. To avoid this fact, you must not wait too long before eating a "normal"
meal.
Summary
To summarize, one must note the following important features:
Eat whey protein to boost your anabolism (before breakfast because none eating at
night leads your body to catabolize, after training).
Always eat "normally" after the whey intake (half an hour later should be well).
Forget the use of amino acids caps because they are more expensive and whey proteins
have a better quality.
Choose whey proteins with highest biological value (see my section about whey !)
