The news:
Marathon over, winter starting. 14/11/2002
I finished the marathon. It was my ultimate goal since it was my first one and I was injured. I had a tendonitis about 2 weeks before the marathon, which did not permit me to train a lot in the 2 weeks before the marathon. An orthetics helped me get back in the chair without pain, but with a small impact on speed. My finishing time for the marathon is 2h37min which is not too bad. I am still uncertain to my participation to other marathons yet, this one was very difficult...
With the marathon behind me, I now start the winter training period. I will be doing a lot of weight training to help my power for next year. Unless I have a big news, my next update will probably be a bit before the start of the 2003 competition season. You can be sure I will be ready!
An update... 27/09/2002
It has been quite a while since I updated my website. There is a very good reason for that. Since early September I moved to British Columbia, in Victoria to pursue my studies and continue my training more intensively than before. So, here I am, in Victoria at UVic. Things are going very well. Classes started and training started again after the big move. I have done one competition in Vancouver, a 10Km that went very well. With a time of 27min:01sec I am very happy, even though this time is not official.
I'm currently training for a big event this year, and one of the last. The Victoria marathon will be in early October. Training is hard since it is a lot of volume, but I'll make it! I will be updating the web site more often this winter even though winter is not the competition season.
The 10km classic in Montréal 28/04/2002
On April 27, I attended to this competition held at the Centre Claude-Robillard in Montréal. I did a time of 30:19 which was my approximate goal for this race. It was a beautiful race even though there was a strong wind.
Back from the training camp 10/04/2002
I am back from the national training camp in WarmSprings. All went well and the week has been very good for my training. The competitions that followed the camp also went very well, I am very satisfied with my performances. I established new personal best times in all my races, and all that at the begining of the new season! I expect the season to be very good. I am now aiming at the Ian Humes competiton in Sherbrooke and the Toronto Metro in Toronto to be my two main goals.
The new competition season! 21/03/2002
The new competiton season is begining very soon. I will participate in the National training camp in WarmSprings, 80km to the South of Atlanta (US), the competition being at the end of the week. The camp and the competition will be from April 1st through 8. News from the results will follow my return from the camp
.
The end of this year's competitions 22/09/2001
I hurt my shoulder, not too baldy though, but I won't be able to go to the half marathon I were supposed to go in Montréal. The competition season is over for this year, but not training! I will slow down my trainings for a month, to recuperate and then start training for next year. You will see me even faster next summer!
