The MERJA ZERGA is a perfect site for an interministerial study in view of preserving this unique site and its precious biological reasources.
The WWF experts are trying to open an assotiation to preserve the Natural Reserve, training of guides and helping the local population to develop some craft . Specially in educating the children in the several school around the Lagoon to respect the nest and the birds and in helping the wemen to improve and sell their craft (weaving of reed mats and raising of rabits).
But these national and international help come slowly
. The very poor local population is sitting in the cafes of the main road
talking of migration (like the birds) to Spain and Italy and France...
