| Biography
Natalie Portman is a young, talented actress who has appeared in many recent movies such as The Professional (which started off her briliant carer), Heat, Beautiful Girls, Mars Attacks and Everyone Says I love you. Natalie was born on June 9, 1981 in Jerusalem, Israel. When she was 3 years old, she moved to Washington and then to Connecticut when she was 7. She then moved once again, this time to Long Island, New York at the age of 9 where she lives today. She is an only child (but kept company by Noodles her dog), her mother is an artist and her father a doctor (physician). Before the launch of her film career, Natalie at age 11, was discovered by a modelling rep, but opted for acting instead. Natalie then appeared in many plays at Usdan Theatre Arts Camp. She played Dora in "Fiorello" and Annie in "Annie get your Gun". She enjoys various types of dancing, including ballet, jazz and tap, as well as reading and writing. Portman is not her real name, but her grandmother's maiden name. In Natalie Portman's next carer move, she will be starring on Broadway in "The Diary of Anne Frank". She will also portray Luke and Leia's mother in the new "Star Wars" prequel due to be released in 1999. What makes Natalie so special and unique is her magnificant talent. This is important because not many actors (young or old) can claim real acting talent. Real talent is the ability to hold the audience in the palm of her/his hand, and drawing them into her world, Natalie definatly has it (because i've been in that world). Nobody I know can honestly say that someone like Pamela Anderson Lee (UgLy!!), or the dimwits on Barney & Friends, have even half the ability to be as believable as Natalie Portman. A lot of people out there have a crush on her, that's fine, because I do too. The problem most people have with that is she is so young, just turned 16 (June 9th - 1997). But, adults were falling in love with Elizabeth Taylor when she was even younger. This may be bold, but I don't think Ms. Taylor is, or was, very talented (Academy Awards and all). As Natalie grows up before our eyes, people will take the blind folds off and see her for what she is, a beautiful and talented actress. |
