14.12.2001 videoprojection during Neven concert at Silly, Belgium
In the morning of the 14.12.2001 I went to the demonstration which took place in the marge of the sommit of Laeken and filmed an 1 hour tape.
Just 12 hours later the tape was projected during the Neven concert at Silly, that very same evening.
Higher Madness, 14/15.12.2002
Using the material of the video shown at Silly, I made a 5 minute version.
It was importend that this video would be shown on TV, because I wanted to show is another kind of manifestation then the once you get to see on the news on TV.
Yes, of course the peacefull side,
but more then that a generation coming up,
looking for something else than the dominant images of need created by hardcore capitalisem, in which you can´t understand your own existence and desires anymore.
A generation trying to pass the message that social consciousness i s a missing dimension within the idea to make the world a big marketplace of products and services.
This video is shown on TV (on music channels like jim TV, TMF, the box...) in another context than the news and treating the images diffrently.
You can find it as well on the Higher Madness Singel and on the ³Mind The Gap 40² CD from Gonzo Circus.

Looking Glass, Dansaertstraat 72, Brussels, Belgium
Block Party, interieur audible, in collaboration with Neven , mixed media (performance, video), 2001

Looking Glass is a big window with a 15 m2 space behind it,
in the center of Brussels. Since two years exhibitions are organized in this
space, only visible from the street. The public is the random passenger.

"Looking Glass immediately reminded me of a television.
The window is like a hughe screen with a black box behind it. "
explains Annick Nölle
" So I wanted to work with sound and moving images.
I invited Neven (experimental trance dub food) to work with me on the exhibition.
We builded a scene in which Neven gave a concert at 16, 19 and 22 pm.
The idea was a life size video clip.
The day of the concert people were standing, dancing, drinking in the street,
in front of the " screen ".
A CD was made for the occasion.
NickyNoise Block Partys
Within the Block Party idea Annick Nölle went on organising concerts in the
same space with among others: a collaboration between Annemie Maes and Eavesdropper, Annabelle, Wally & J.A.C., Mo Becha (december 2001)

CC-NICC, Brussels, Belgium
Systeme D, mixed media, 2000

a collaboration with Olivier Barrea and Gerrit-Jan Fukkink.
During 3 month in the summer we invested a fellow in the center of Brussels.
First we build habitations for wild cats as well as living facilities for our own.
Within this living facilities we organized barbecues and invited more artists
as well as the kids from the neighborhood to work on the field.
The fellow functioned as a park, a lot, or lab, or unused earth space allowing the confluence of culture, art, ideas and social examination.

The Snipers Remote Death Dealing, mixed media, ( two radios, one mixing panel, one amplifier, two loudspeakers, ), 1999

There were two radios and a mixing panel.
During the opening a DJ mixed the music coming from the radios.
No vinyl or CDs just what is playing on the radio.
A random remote access to music,
capturing vibes that are constantly crossing the air.
I like the random character of what is happening
and during the opening I became aware of something funny:
the different styles of music change the perception of the scene :
being at a rave party
in a jazzclub
at a wedding at 5 in the morning
or in the orbit of Pluto

permanent installation in the Boudewijngebouw, administrative center of the flamish commune, Brussels,
no title, mixed media, 1999

At the side of the coffee kitchen a bulletin board covers the whole wall.
Employees can leave messages. In the kitchen a radio is playing.
A second wall is covered by a painting based on communication in public spaces :
from poster to graffiti on the inside of a toilet door.
The floor is painted in red, usually used for floors in industrial buildings.
