I discovered Guemar's poetry book 'State of Emergency' when I was looking for more details about the terrorist attacks which happened in Algeria recently. I read the title and the sample of the introduction by Lisa Appignanesi and I saw the fantastic image of the cover. Then I decided to buy it. I have been seduced by this powerful and very intense poetry against torture, repression and the human stupidity. But love remains the main link between all the poems. - T. The state of exception or emergency, is not the exception, but the rule. Journaliste indépendant, Soleiman Adel Guémar est né en 1963 à Alger. A été collaborateur des hebdomadaires "Parcours Maghrébins" et "L'Evénement". Il est également l'auteur de plusieurs nouvelles parues dans la presse ("La Tribune", "Liberté", etc...) 


1er prix ex aequo au 10ième festival national de poésie (Bédjaïa, Algérie 1998)
