RADIO SHOW

on DIO station

In June 1991, Gérard and Philippe, two close friends (an insurance agent and an English teacher) decided to create a radio show devoted to POP. They chose DIO the last independent regional radio created in 1981. Since then, every friday night at 8 p.m (local hour)...

300 programs later, the show is still on the air but without Philippe who moved to Spain for other adventures.

What we felt like broadcasting at the beginning in 91 was ringing guitars, great melodies, the only essential things to our ears after 25 years of non-stop music. So, the trigger was a Chicago-based trio called MATERIAL ISSUE whose album INTERNATIONAL POP OVERTHROW was the highlight of 91.

Why "POP DREAMS" instead of "Big tits" or "Fuck off progressive rock"? We mixed REM's famous bootleg with "Rock dreams", an amazing artbook drawn by Guy Pellaert.

I was joined by a friend of us who is keen on American 60's music (pop/garage/psychedelic) : latin lover Jean-Yves. Each friday night, He plays two songs that he chose in his attic-based collection.
