PILGRIMAGE OF TRADITION

Organised every year by the FSSPX, the pilgrimage of tradition takes place during the we of the Pentecost.
An official website of the pilgrimage already exists. But, unfortunately, it is only in french. So, you will find more information on this page about the pigrimage itself, how to register and what you need during these three days.
There are also some pictures of the pilgrimage, Chartres and Montmartre.

PRACTICAL INFORMATIONS

The length of the pilgrimage is around 105 kilometers. It is recommanded that you train a bit before the pilgrimage to avoid too much work at the medical assistance.

What you must plan

  • A small rucksac for the walk with the breakfast of the saturday after the mass, the lunch and some energetic food and a flask, fork, knife and spoon, a mig and raincoat and headgear.
  • A large bag where you will put your clothes, sleepingbag, your tent and 5 cold meals. Some trucks will carry this bag along the pilgrimage and you will get back it every night.

What the organisation will plan for you

  • Bread, water and sugar. A warm soup (and so good, trust me....) the evening and the breakfast the sunday and monday mornings.
  • The carriage of your bags, tents and other luggages.
  • Lavatories and washbasins will be installed on every bivouac plus some huge tents for the families or the foreigners.

THE ROUTE

  • Saturday the 14th of May : 40 km.
    7h45 Mass at the "Cathedrale de Chartres".
    13h00 departure of the youth chapters at Baillolet.
    14h00 lunch at Baillolet (closed to Gallardon)
    Sleep at the Greffiers
  • Sunday the 15th of May : 35 km.
    7h00 Start at Rambouillet.
    10h45 Mass (Pentecost) and then lunch.
    Sleep at Saclay
  • Monday the 16th of May 30 km. 7h00 Start at Buc.
    12h00 Lunch at "bois de Boulogne"
    14h30 Porte Dauphine followed by the procession in Paris
    16h30 Mass at the Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre

HOW TO JOIN THE PILGRIMAGE FROM PARIS

  • The saturday morning at 6 o'clock a gratis train will start form the station "Montparnasse" to Chartres.


THE PILGRIM'S COMMITMENTS

  • You will register fast.

  • You will be faithfull to your chapter.

  • You will participate at the meditations.

  • You will respect the instructions.

  • You will help the pilgrims who are tired.

  • You will avoid using the car of assitance during the walk.

  • You will avoid indecent clothes. (Military clothes are forbidden)

  • You will economy the bottles of water.

  • You will respect the nature.

  • You will help the organisation.
