This campaign is an information campaign. Nothing more. There is no fund raising, no petition, no tracts, no guild, no junk e-mails attached to it. The only goals of this campaign are to save the Faerie Totems, to inform Neopians about the Faerie Totem scam, warn them about scams in general, and to promote the anti-scammer fight. There are no additional or hidden goals.
The register is therefore a good old everyday guestbook, hosted by Sparklit. It has nothing to do with the guestbook-style petitions you can for example find on petitiononline. The Trantor Project and its partners will not use the guestbook entries for anything else than the viewing pleasure of this website's visitors. Finally, if you would like to know about Sparklit's privacy policy, you can check it here.

Beyond the Campaign
The Faerie Totem scam is unfortunately not the only one out there. The NeoPets abuse team is constantly working on removing scammers from NeoPets, but they can only fight the problem once it's there and already started to harm. Your best protection is prevention and information.
The partners of this campaign have been chosen for the high quality of their guides on avoiding scammers and/or for their strong involvement in the anti-scammer fight.

Note : The Newbie Guardians are not a guild, but an independant group gathering members of several guilds.
If you feel like joining their action, you can do so without leaving your current guild.

«The Newbie Guardians are a very select group of people who spend literally hours on the Newbie Chat Boards. Sadly, most of our activities seem to focus on warning newbies about scammers/hackers, but that has never been our main goal.
In a perfect Neopia, we would simply offer advice and tips, as well as answer questions. Since Neopia is NOT perfect, we also spend that time warning about scammers/hackers and how to protect yourself against them. This puts our accounts at risk, because we then become targets for those scammers/hackers that we report. We want newbies to know that they can always turn to us for help and advice. THAT is what we really stand for.
Newbie Guardians are selected by invitation only. All requests to be listed as a Newbie Guardian will be ignored. If you are on the Newbie Boards enough, we will notice you and invite you to join. If we invite you and you chose not to join, that is fine, too. We harbor no ill will to anyone. We simply want the newbies to learn to play safe and have fun.»
